About the Show
Catch OMAR’s debut show in Bangalore at linearಬೆಂಗಳೂರು 2026, with his outfit Omar and the Wrong Meds, a new-age punk rock act shaped by the collision of hip-hop, live instrumentation, and visual storytelling. Their music carries the urgency and confrontation of punk, the rhythm and narrative instinct of hip-hop, and a distinctly contemporary visual language that makes every part of their sound feel intentional. Whether through a song, a performance, or an image, OMAR builds a universe that is sharp, irreverent, and impossible to overlook.
At the centre of their live experience is a tight, groove-heavy band that brings precision and surprise in equal measure. It moves between rap, melody, and guitar licks while locking into sharp rhythmic pockets, creating a performance that can shift from abrasive and explosive to intimate and melodic within moments. The contrast is central to the experience: heavy and playful, chaotic and controlled, raw and highly intentional.
About the Artist
OMAR is a musician based in kerala fuses punk-rock urgency with hip-hop groove, delivering razor-sharp lyrics, driving rhythms, and deep visual storytelling. His songwriting is politically charged, but rarely presented plainly. Through satire, irony, humour, and tightly constructed lyricism, OMAR examines power, social behaviour, and the absurdities of the world around him. His observations are irreverent and he uses wit as an incisive way to make difficult ideas relatable. This extends into OMAR’s visual world.
Drawing from the iconography, textures, and attitude of old-school punk and hip-hop, he reexamines them through a distinctly new-age lens. His visuals are bold, layered, and often as satirical as his lyrics, creating a cohesive identity that exists beyond the music. With a sound that grooves hard, lyrics that cut deep, and a visual language that constantly evolves, OMAR is building a world where punk rock, hip-hop, satire, and live musicianship collide.
