Meghna Bhardwaj

Meghna Bhardwaj is a dance artist and academic originally from New Delhi, India. Her practice involves movement, materials, text, video, and installation. In 2021, she began her ongoing research Yarning, in which she is focussed on themes of motherhood, thresholds, and feminine fantasies\loiterings, explored through knitting gestures and dance. For Meghna, her constant motivation behind this research is to draw and redraw her roots to her mother, and challenge the notion of ‘borders’ by employing yarn as a tool for erasable lines or playgrounds. Her works attempt to comment on the politics of the site and the city, and navigate questions of spatial freedom through embodied narratives of mapping, crossing, leaping, and gathering.
